Item Description

James Baker's intensely colored monoprint, Beside Myself, shakes us out of a comfortable lethargy and invites us to look within and discover our primal, shared yearnings for love and connection. Using symbols that transcend time and culture, Baker's work points to universal, archetypal experiences. Beside Myself is a monoprint with acrylic paint that measures 42"(h) x 33"(w) in a black wood frame under glass.

James Baker is a graduate of the design program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. A designer and photographer, Baker has been involved in web design and new technologies for over 7 years. In addition to community websites, he has designed promo packages and web presence for movies, and CD covers for national bands. He believes that "art best serves when the viewer is compelled to generate and speculate upon multiple meanings and possibilities."
