Item Description
This often-photographed icon of the Boston area is sometimes referred to as the "coolest member of the National Register of Historic Places." A working diner in Somerville since the 40's, the Rosebud Diner was renovated in l995 and though it retains its streetcar exterior and chrome within, one patron has referred to it as a "Jules Verne space capsule." Margo Lemieux's carbon transfer print captures its "blast from the past" persona in an artist proof, singular print, measuring 16"(h) x 20"(w) in a black plastic frame under glass.
Margo Lemieux is a long-time museum member and generous donor to our annual auction. She teaches at Lasell College, illustrates children's books and has paintings in several private collections. Margo writes a monthly children's book column for The Sun Chronicle, articles for national publications, such as BookPage and has designed art for music festivals, including the Boston Folk Festival. Margo holds a M.Ed. from Curry College and a BFA from Boston University. She is currently working towards an MFA in printmaking at UMass Dartmouth.
