Item Description

Dramatic rather than didactic, symbolic rather than realistic, James Baker's monoprint, Odd Ball, leaves room for each viewer's interpretation. The piece is brilliantly colored and exudes an "aura" of warm, interpersonal connection. Odd Ball is a monoprint with acrylic measuring 42"(h) x 32" (w) in a black wood frame under glass.

James Baker is a graduate of the design program at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. A designer and photographer, Baker has been involved in web design and new technologies for over 7 years. In addition to community websites, he has designed promo packages and web presence for movies, and CD covers for national bands. He believes that "art best serves when the viewer is compelled to generate and speculate upon multiple meanings and possibilities."
