Item Description
"The dance -- the elephant-dance! I have seen it..." Little Toomai exclaims in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book. And no doubt Johann LeRoux has seen it, too. Johann's love of the fauna and flora of his native South Africa is evident in this silver on black signed limited edition linoleum cut (60/100). In a gold wood frame under glass, the piece measures 13"(h) x 10"(w) (image size: 6" x 4").
Johann LeRoux is a member of the Gateway Arts studio in Brookline, MA. He uses art as a means of communicating, since a head injury left him with a language disorder called aphasia. Johann's work also includes watercolors of his adoptive home in New England.
