Item Description
"I'm not completely certain how to describe this piece," writes artist/illustrator Brad Kendall, " but I think it has to do with the effects of watching too much TV network news. My artwork is a marriage of two great influences on my image making: Surrealism and Comic Art. Like most of my art, this was created in the spirit of automatic drawing, allowing my subconscious to dictate direction, rather than relying on any preconceived concept. It thereby retains spontaneity and the element of surprise both for myself and the viewer."
Her Thoughts Amplify is an original ink line-drawing transferred onto cotton rag paper and then hand-colored. It measures 13"(h) x "15"(w) in a black metal frame under glass (image size: 9" x 12").
Brad Kendall is the owner of an art agency in Providence, R.I., that provides computer art and TV storyboards for clients like BMW, Audi, Timberland, Nextel and Reebok. A 1978 graduate of RISD with a BFA in Illustration, Brad worked as a layout artist, then Art Director at Creamer Advertising before starting Bradford Kendall Illustrations, Inc. Brad has won numerous awards at the Attleboro Arts Museum and the Providence Art Club.
