Item Description
Wilderness and Spirit, A Mountain Called Katahdin is the award-winning feature-length film (100 minutes) by noted Maine filmmaker Huey. Huey himself will present his film to your group and discuss it with you. Screened three times to enthusiastic audiences at July's Thoreau Society Annual Gathering, this film also has been presented on Public TV and at film festivals in New England and elsewhere, including the Smithsonian Institute in Washington. Wilderness and Spirit is a visually grand, thematically complex monument to the crown jewel of enormous Baxter State Park--a mile-high mountain of historic, ecological, ethnological, artistic, philosophical, and religious significance to many, and an icon of the universal sublime to Henry Thoreau, whose "Ktaadn" experience is treated in the film.
Item Special Note
