Item Description
You and up to 19 of your friends will tour this remarkable English-styled stucco and half-timbered country home, built in 1903 for the son of Washington's first governor. The fixtures, tiles, ceiling decoration, woodwork, windows, and fireplaces are splendid examples of the Art Nouveau style, executed by that style's foremost American artist, Louis Comfort Tiffany. Tiffany personally supervised the installation of a four-paneled autumn foliage stained-glass window, a magnificent mosaic and gold leaf tile mural for the dining room, and other decorative features. Now owned by Michael and Barbara Malone, the home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Tour led by Larry Kreisman, architectural historian and Education Director at Historic Seattle.
