Item Description
Cornucopia shell form with Persian Rose glaze from Van Briggle Pottery, one of the oldest active art potteries in the U.S. Founder Artus Van Briggle, a top designer for Rookwood, established his own business in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1899. Examples of his work can be found in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Smithsonian, the British Museum in London and the Louvre. This piece, circa 1950, is marked with the logo, name and finisher's mark "B". Bottom has a thin coat of shellac consistent with pots made from the 1940s - 1960s. Mint condition - no chips, cracks or repairs.
