Item Description

This auction item is a beautiful Japanese Obi (sash/belt) suitable for wear with a traditional kimono or other attire requiring a sash. The obi is patterned on the front side with embroidered mythical creatures, geometric shapes and floral designs, and is white on the opposite side. This fine item could be worn to the next Obon or Matsuri festival or other occasion where it is desirable to dress in traditional Japanese clothing or, alternately, it could be used as an elegant display item in the home. The Obi measures 168" by 12".

This gracious donation is from Donna Ikeda of Honolulu. She is a former Hawaii state senator and has been a dedicated supporter and Honorary Board member of the Lawai International Center for 35 years. She supports the Center because this humble place uplifts the world with the Light of Lawai.
