Item Description

Mixed media

21.5" x 21.5" x 1.5"

Karole Nicholson attended RISD, studying graphic and advertising design. Acrylic, mixed media and collage are her mediums of choice, engaging a deeply personal approach to expressing her spirit on canvas. Texture, a determined palette and abstract views are the components that draw her into developing each painting. Gallery representation includes the AAM, the Next Door Gallery, Gallery Twist, North River Arts and the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative.

A refined balance of geometry and atmosphere, "Circles and Squares" explores contrast and cohesion through layered textures, subtle graphite markings, and structured black-and-white patterns. Cool tones of blue and white dominate the composition, creating a serene and contemplative visual field. Intermittent dots, lines, and paper fragments lend rhythm and complexity to the piece. This work reflects the artist's sensitivity to form and negative space, offering a meditative yet dynamic presence.
