Sarah Alexander is a self-taught studio artist with a rich heritage of artistic lineage. She currently works as the Gallery Director at HCA in Hopkinton, MA. Sarah works in many materials from pen and ink botanical drawings and watercolor, to sculpting with steel. Recent exhibits and awards include Sculpture Now at The Mount in Lenox MA, Art on the Trails in Southborough MA, and invitational and juried exhibits at the AAM. Sarah is an Artists Member at Fountain Street Gallery.
This piece was inspired by "Harold and the Purple Crayon" by Crockett Johnson and a recurring dream about waves. Flat abstract waves (or are they mountains?) develop into more dimensional waves as if in a dream. It was created with watercolor on fiber paste on a wood panel.
