Virginia Fitzgerald is a multidisciplinary artist whose work challenges viewers to think, to question, and to imagine new possibilities for themselves and their communities. Her practice celebrates the everyday, transforming ordinary objects and moments into the extraordinary. Whether wielding a paintbrush or using needle and thread, Fitzgerald brings attention to the overlooked and elevates it to the sacred, inviting others to observe, reconsider, and rediscover the world around them.

Embroidery has been part of the artist's studio practice since college, but Fitzerald's "Meditations Series," begun in 2025, emerged as a way to navigate and respond to the turbulence of contemporary life. These intuitive fabric collages, pieced together from scraps of cloth, thread, and found materials, serve as both personal therapy and a reflection on our collective need for repair. More than resolution, these works embody presence: the quiet act of stitching as healing, resistance, and hope.

Final bidding will take place in-person during the LIVE AUCTION event on Saturday, November 1st. If you're unable to attend the live auction, you can leave a "high bid" amount online (no later than October 29th, 5pm EST) and the auctioneer will represent your bid during the live event.

Item Special Note

A note on bidding: Any high bid that does not follow the listed bidding increments will be nullified and voided.

 The Bidding Increments are as follows:

    $1-99, the bidding increment is $5 

   $100-199, the bidding increment is $10

   $200-499, the bidding increment is $20 

   $500-999, the bidding increment is $50 

   $1000 and up, the bidding increment is $100

Items can be picked up at the Attleboro Arts Museum from November 6th – 8th, 2025. The Museum is open Tuesday - Saturday from 10am-5pm. In-person pickup is preferred. If an item is to be shipped, the winning bidder is responsible for all shipping arrangements and handling costs. After arrangements have been made, items will be shipped no later than November 14th. Winners of specialty items that do not require pickup will be contacted with details by November 7th. The artist retains all reproduction and copyrights.
