This original mixed-media artwork by local artist Carol Meckling shows us one of the iconic "temples" Lawai International Center is known for. The shadowed shrine floats in an organic, orange-hued background while the eye is drawn to a woodrose that bursts from the interior. This piece provides a gentle reminder of the grace and serenity that visitors encounter when visiting the LIC shrines.
This artwork consists of an original photo that has been giclee printed onto wood and subsequently painted with acrylic colors and layered with collage. The piece measures 12" x 9" and will enchant viewers and elicit conversation when displayed in your home.
Carol Meckling, artist and Haloa Gallery owner, is a fine art painter who strives to capture through her art the unique aliveness she esperiences every day living on Kauai. She creates art that reignites your awe for the natural world. Carol's art helps you remember your own divine nature by connecting you with the ocean and all its creatures, the land, Hawaiian culture and the spirit of aloha.
The Haloa Gallery and Studio are located in the Plantation House at Kilohana .
