Item Description
Triangle silk lace shawl—Victorian- From great-grandmother.
Measures 5’ on all three sides, straight measure to tip is 52”, and fringe is 8” long.
Good condition. Fine silk thread. Very handsome. Could be used at a window to let light through with a pattern; or over a piano or end table.
Not of tablecloth thickness. And of course, over a black suit/dress so elegantly shows down one’s back. Notice the intricate pattern. This was probably milled, as work is very even for handmade.
Milled where my ancestor lived and worked -- the Lynn-Lawrence, MA mills in the early 1900s. Of course, one could croquet this today, for many weeks of labor, but this awesome pattern is vintage Victorian and gorgeous! Hard to photograph.
