Item Description
Tennessee Casts the Deciding Vote
Tennessee cast the deciding vote to ratify the 19th Amendment, making it possible for women to vote. In recognition of the importance of this pivotal historic event, the citizens of Tennessee have done remarkable work to ensure that the story will be told.
To help tell the story of how they achieved this goal is the Tennessee Woman Suffrage Monument from Concept to Completion booklet, which is filled with historic information and images of the people and the process that made the recognition possible
The beautiful hand-made silver pin encrusted with pearls and other stones, along with a miniature Perfect 36 tag (as a reminder of the significance of Tennessee being the 36th state and final state needed), was used as a fundraiser to help complete their tribute.
Included is a brief biography of Sue Shelton White that tells the difficult, ongoing, courageous campaign to win the right to vote.
