Item Description
Artist: Kate Merrick
Born and raised on Cape Cod, Kate’s painting career began in Wood’s Hole where she took her first lessons as a child. When it became time for college, Kate attended Museum School in Boston and then later moved to NYC. Kate often returned to the Cape and ultimately moved back full-time to reside in Chatham, where she opened her first gallery and studio in the Brick Block Building on Main Street. Life later took her to the beautiful Downeast coast of Maine where Kate raised her children and painted prolifically. With her children now grown, she finds herself residing again in Chatham where she holds the position of Resident Artist at Artnova Gallery at 463 Main Street.
