Item Description
This package includes 4 amazing Sakes.
Kuheiji Kuno Honten "Kurodasho Tako"
The nose on this exquisite aged sake is a unique collection of young fruit tones, peach, white pepper, lemon, rock candy, cucumber, mineral, and steamed rice aromas. Are you ready for the new frontiers of sake making? Are you ready to explore a sake made by sake brewers who play chess and not checkers? A 750ml bottle with a cork; all that’s missing is the sulfites, which this does not have, and you’d swear this sake is almost wine-like? But is it? Full, rich, and zesty this brew drinks bright with a vivid crisp acidity that has body but also a nice tingle. There is weight to the fluid that is elevated with an acidity that walks through the palate, a nice umami play, and complexity that appeals to big white wine drinkers. Look for Muscat grape, pear, young peach, lychee, citrus, plum, mineral, and steamed rice flavors that drink fresh, controlled, and wine-like. This brew is for sake drinkers who know the realm of wine and want to taste the similarities in a complex and unique, one-of-a-kind way that shows the frontiers of sake making and how rice and water can go further.
Aizu Homare Junmai Daiginjo "Black Label"
The nose on this International Wine Challenge Grand Champion Trophy winner is a superb collection of melon, grape, mineral water, and strawberry aromas. Have you ever wanted to taste a sake that defines a category? Well this brew is for you! Using Yamadanishiki milled to 39%, get ready for a sake made with just rice and water, but tastes like a fruit basket. Smooth, round, and soft. This sexy and alluring Junmai Daiginjo is velvet personified. It’s both juicy and watery, slippery and expressive, and excels in a white wine glass. Look for hints of red apple, pear, mango, and strawberry on a fluid that drinks bright and zesty, which might have something to do with the #1801 Yeast.
Kamotsuru “Tokusei Gold”
Kamotsuru's Signature Blend is the original gold-flaked Daiginjo sake. The two edible, gold flake Sakura blossoms in each bottle are meant to represent two cranes who’ve mated for life. The gold isn’t the only thing that sets this sake apart from the rest. From its strawberry, banana nose, to its fresh, tropical flavor, Tokusei Gold brightens the heart. Like taking in a deep breath from the top of Mt. Misen, this brew will help you find your center. Crisp, light, classic
Koshi no Kanchubai Silver Junmai
A classic Gohyakumangoku sake by Niigata Meiji that is smooth and quaffable - the Silver-label Junmai is a feat of delicate fruit aromas. This soft, pleasant sake is a major crowd pleaser with hints of banana and citrus beneath a gentle rice flavor. Pairable with both eastern and western dishes, and excellent at every temperature.
