Item Description
There are two amazing indentures in this auction; be sure to check out the other one as well!
This one begins "...made the twenty-fifth of December in the thirty-third year of the Reign of our most gracious Sovereign Lord George the Third, King of Great Britain..." So amazing!!! It is dated 25 December 1792 in Salford, Lancashire, England.
This is a Mortgage between John Wroe and Richard Tunnadine. Also John Bury and Richard Harrison, both Timber Merchants from Salford. In researching this indenture, a certified genealogist found proof that these people did indeed live in Salford. (Pictured is a document, a directory of Salford 1772, that lists John Bury - this is not part of the auction, but just for verification.)
This gorgeous indenture has two seals at the bottom of the document and measures approximately 35"x27".
This 232 year old piece of history would look beautiful when framed, hanging in a home or office.
Donated by Mr. and Mrs. Randall Scott, dear friends of Constituting America!
