Item Description
Enjoy this $75 gift certificate to dine at James Beard-nominated Hell's Backbone Grill & Farm in Boulder, Utah, plus two cookbooks signed by Blake & Jen (co-owners and chefs of Hell's Backbone)!
With a Measure of Grace recounts the improbable tale of a small woman-owned, Buddhist-based restaurant becoming a community anchor in a small Mormon town. Blake Spalding and Jen Castle (with Lavinia Spalding) share their trials, tribulations and successes as the co-owners and chefs of Hell's Backbone Grill, a remote culinary gem in Boulder, Utah, which, despite all the odds, has won the acclaim of the national press and the respect of its neighbors for its seasonally-oriented, place-based cuisine.
This Immeasurable Place: Food and Farming from the Edge of Wilderness is filled with sixty new and tantalizing recipes, loads of gorgeous, mouthwatering images, and plenty of stories. Its 288 pages brim with insight into the restaurant and history, the extraordinary town of tiny Boulder, Utah, and the sacred land that surrounds it, the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument.
Hell’s Backbone Grill & Farm serves fanciful Four Corners cuisine: a blend of Western Range and Southwestern flavors, running through the kaleidoscope of the ever-changing offerings from the farm. They are busy designing new menus that feature their farm eggs and the veggies fresh from the farm and from last year’s harvest. They grow many of our own vegetables, fruits, and herbs on their six-acre, no-harm organic farm, and they feature locally raised meats, as well as their own handmade breads, jams, preserves, pickles, and hot sauce.
