Gail Eckberg is a retired elementary school teacher. She has a love of natural surroundings and enjoys painting en plein air to capture the true essence of light and color. Gail has been a member and officer in art societies in MA, RI, and ME. Her work is held in private and public collections in the US and abroad. She is an award-winning artist, completing work in watercolor, acrylic, oils, pastel, and collages, as well as mixed media. Often her captivating subject dictates' what medium to use, to enhance the feeling she wants to portray.

"Dry Dock" was created en plein air on location at a fishing cove in Stonington, Maine.
