Rebecca Skinner is a contemporary photographer, living in Franklin, MA. She is a graduate of RISD. Skinner photographs abandoned spaces throughout the US. She is a modern-day urban explorer seeking unique neglected structures and desolate places. Her subject matter includes images of large open spaces and details such as peeling paint and rust. Texture, color and light play an important part of her image making and she is attracted to the beauty of these places as well as the forgotten history.
"Landscape I" was photographed for the artist's MA Century Farms Project and is included in the 2020 edition of MA Century Farms. This image was taken at a100 year old farm, though not this artist's typical subject matter, Skinner thoroughly enjoyed scouting the MA landscape for scenes with story.
