Item Description
This item is an original oil painting on canvas by local artist Sandra Ambrose. The viewer gazes at the small tide pools that form as the sea retreats at low tide while the Na Pali cliffs can silmultaneously be seen in the distance. The limu (seaweed) reveals itself after spending so many hours submerged in the sustaining seawater. One can imagine the many creatures busily adapting to the changes occuring in their environment. How many of us have wandered through just such a landscape and marveled at all the life bursting in this type of setting?
The work has been painted on a canvas that measures 15" x 12". It will evoke many memories as you gaze on the painting gracing your wall.
There are so many wonderful people on Kauai who volunteer their talents for good causes. Just look at Sandra “Sandy” Ambrose. For years, Sandy has been donating her wonderful oil paintings of Kauai scenery to the Lawai International Center online auction, helping to support our mission. Each piece of her painted art is unique and represents the beauty that is Kaua’i. We are so grateful for Sandy’s talent and generosity.
Sandy has also been volunteering with Habitat for Humanity for years, but you won’t find her with a hammer in hand at the job site. Where you will find her is in the studio with a paintbrush in hand creating beautiful artwork for their homeowners. Sandy presents a one-of-a-kind oil painting to every Kaua’i Habitat for Humanity homebuyer as they receive the keys to their brand new home. It’s an amazing act of generosity, and the homebuyers are truly touched by the amount of love and care that is displayed with every brush stroke.
Sandy is just one more example of how volunteer artists make a tremendous impact on our wonderful island community.
