Item Description

Acrylic

9" x 10.5" x 0.25"

Paul Douglas Martins @Artist_Martae is a native of Attleboro, MA. He holds a BA from Syracuse and an MARH/MPRES from the University of VA. Paul has exhibited with the AAM previously. He currently resides in Norton, MA pursuing his love of fluid acrylic art and the infinite possibilities it presents. Paul created the #CorkscrewTechnique for his fluid art in 2021.

The pieces he has donated for this auction demonstrate this technique and are some of the first offered to the public. "Love Rushes In" incorporates Amsterdam, Liquitex & Artist's Loft metallic acrylics on a white base with the #sheleeartbloomtechnique swiped over the top in multiple colors. Then, the artist's #CorkscrewTechnique was executed across the composition, forming elements large, small, and minuscule across the 9" Turkish tile.

The composition was finished with a coat of resin. Application of the clearcoat caused a shimmering effect with the metallic acrylics and an increase in depth perception in the overall piece.
