Item Description
This beautiful, hand-turned Italian Stone Pine Bowl is 10-1/2" in diameter and 3-1/2" tall and comes from the workshop of Don Scott, a retired cabinet maker who creates artistic and useful works from various found and local timber. This bowl was crafted from the Italian Stone Pine Trees that - sadly - were taken down on Anacapa Street in Santa Barbara. As Don says of his creations:
"The stresses of wind and weather, age and environment leave a visual history in every piece of wood. Natural cracks, voids and discolorations are part of that story. I love trying to bring out that history in my woodturning. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it."
All of his culinary pieces are food safe, finished with pure tung oil, and waxed with beeswax and carnauba wax. His work can be found at Pierre Lafond and Raul's Textiles.
