Item Description
California Suffragist Proofs from Winning the Vote
When NWHA Board member Robert Cooney’s book, “Winning the Vote: The Triumph of the American Woman Suffrage Movement,” was in production, the photographs and other materials were scanned and prepared for printing.
High-quality press proofs, not printed and not continuous tone prints, were produced for color balance and quality control prior to offset printing.
Each image here is the size that appeared in the book and can be trimmed as desired. Some are stamped with noticeable “Proof” marks as shown and a few have staple holes or other wear. Sizes are included for those too large to reproduce fully but the final image is complete.
All scans are shown 100% on 8½ x 11” sheets and appear uncropped.
These reproductions are perfect for framing, displays, scrapbooks, collection accents, or other ways of celebrating suffrage history. They are not glossy photos some have marks but (unique) press proofs. The stamps and covers are particularly hard to come by.
