Jen Yakamovich (1993) is a drummer, composer, and improviser currently living and working on Coast Salish territories (Vancouver). Drawing from creative music, movement lineages, and the environmental humanities, she explores the relationship between sound, embodiment, and social ecology. She is currently participating in a mentorship under drummer, composer and field recordist Susie Ibarra (Berlin).
Image description: A collaged image featuring a photo of Jen, a white woman with long caramel-coloured hair topped in a cranberry-coloured ball cap, poses with a smile. Her hand is engaged with assembling her pearly-coloured snare drum. She wears plain black cotton clothes, her bare arms showing in a tank top. Overlaid in the bottom right corner are two manila envelopes, one with a black symbol of an audio device on its front.
