Glenn Gear is an Indigiqueer filmmaker and multidisciplinary artist of Inuit and settler descent currently living in Montréal. He is originally from Corner Brook Newfoundland and has family ties to Nunatsiavut. His practice is grounded in a research creation methodology shaped by Inuit and Indigenous ways of knowing – often employing the use of animation, photo archives, painting, beading, installation, and work with traditional materials such as sealskin.

Image description:A collaged image featuring a portrait of an Indigenous man of mixed Inuit heritage with a brown and grey beard and moustache. He wears a black baseball cap with a green beaded design, glasses with a thick browline, a thin silver chain around his neck, several piercings in his ear, and a black button up shirt over a black t-shirt. He gazes to the right side of the frame, his expression is relaxed. In the foreground are two cutouts of his black ink illustrations, a bear and a caribou, are arranged to create the effect that he is among them. Overlaid in the bottom right corner is an Ilford brand disposable camera and two manila envelopes, one with a large black question mark on its front.
