"Paul Wong is a pioneering figure, known for his innovative work in visual and media art. With a career spanning over five decades, Wong has continuously pushed the boundaries of storytelling, working outside mainstream conventions making art for site-specific spaces and screens of all sizes. He is an award winning artist and curator and founder of several artist-run groups, and organizing events, festivals, conferences and public interventions since the 1970s. Wong has produced projects throughout North America, Europe and Asia. Paul has proudly been actively engaged with the grunt gallery for 40 years.
“a creator of events, performances, videos, pictures, sculptures and cultural institutions, Wong has made himself a virtual intersection of activities both solo and collaborative, affirmative and critical, stoic and ludic.”
– Michael Turner, Preview Magazine February/March 2019

Image Description: A collage image featuring a photo of Paul Wong leaning forward with his elbows crossed on top of a long diner booth seat in what appears to be a cozy, classic diner. Paul’s torso is visible and he is wearing a black T-shirt with a graphic design featuring the Rolling Stones “tongue sticking out” logo and a black cap with a subtle emblem. He has a thoughtful expression while one hand holds the side of his face. The background reveals the diner's interior, with red booths, hanging pendant lights, and a counter with various items visible, such as coffee machines, cups, and condiments. The overall atmosphere is warmly lit and nostalgic. At the bottom is an Ilford brand disposable camera and two manila envelopes, one with a large black question mark on its front.
