Item Description
Exquisite craftsmanship is required to create these unique pieces of art.
Precisely cutting, shaving, shaping and piecing together various woods from around the world, the artist creates a stunning image with magnificent texture and color variation.
For this Mallard Hen image, the artist used -- among other woods -- Primavera from Costa Rica for the Sky + Limba from Africa for the Water + Maple from the USA for the Splash + Silky Oak from Australia for the Beach + Imbuya from Brazil for the Reeds, and Koa from Hawaii for the Cattails.
A complete list of all the woods used in this creative and stunning piece -- and their sourcing -- are listed on the authentication tag on the back.
From the Hudson Valley Region of New York, where the artist lived and worked, this piece showcases nature in both the soaring glory of the eagle and in the very elements from which it is made.
