Background on the artists:
Richard Shorty was born in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory in 1959 and belongs to Northern Tuchone Tribe. He is a self-taught artist, who started painting at an early age. His works include drums, paddles and masks.
David Boxley is a Tsimshian carver from Metlakatla, Alaska. Born in 1952, he was raised by his grandparents and learned many Tsimshian traditions and the language from them. He is well-known as a carver of totem poles.
