Family ticket for a tour of Scone Palace and Gardens near Perth, Scotland, and visit to the Newly-Opened Perth Museum, new home of the Stone of Destiny. You will be accompanied by a member of the local Toastmasters club.

About Scone Palace
Scone Palace is one of Scotland's favourite visitor attractions. It offers a great day out for all, full of history, art, outdoor activities, gift and food shops, and a Coffee Shop. It is open April – October. Included in this lot is a voucher for refreshments at the Coffee shop – so, a lucky bidder can enjoy a scone (rhymes with ‘on’) in the Palace of Scone (rhymes with ‘moon’)!

Explore the stunning art and architecture of the Palace, Scone Palace breathes history like nowhere else in Scotland. 42 Kings of Scots were crowned at Scone and today it is home to the Earls of Mansfield. Discover the history and marvel at the vast array of artefacts on display; you will have access to both the Palace and the Gardens.

About the Stone of Destiny

The Stone of Destiny is an ancient symbol of Scottish monarchy and kingdom. A king-making stone, it was used in the inauguration of Scottish monarchs at Scone, 3 miles upriver of Perth on the River Tay. Its first documented use was in 1249 for the inauguration of the boy-king, Alexander III.

Taken as war loot by King Edward I of England fifty years after Alexander became king, the Stone was carried to Westminster Abbey in London; a symbol of Edward’s victory and his perceived right to rule. Returning home to Perthshire for the first time in 700 years, this iconic artefact is still used to crown kings and queens of the United Kingdom today, including the coronation of King Charles III in May 2023.

Item Special Note

Bids to visit the Palace and see the Stone of Destiny are subject to the Palace being open during the season. Both the access to the Palace, Gardens and Museum to see the Stone of Destiny will be on an agreed date. Members of the Rotary Club of Perth Kinnoull will ensure the arrangements are smoothly handled.  This bid is valid until the Palace closes for the season in October 2025.

Travel and accommodation are not included.
