Spring Lake Day Camp, an American Camping Association (ACA) accredited camp in Ringwood, New Jersey, was founded in 1989 and has been family owned and operated by the Kessler family since its opening. Mitchell and Michelle Kessler are proud owners of this beautiful 30 acre campus which is surrounded by the majestic Ramapo Mountains. Our location off Skyline Drive on the border of Bergen and Passaic counties provides easy access off I-287 which enables SLDC to pick up children from most areas in Bergen, Passaic, Morris, and Essex Counties, as well as parts of Hudson County. It is also a quick and direct ride across the George Washington Bridge from many neighborhoods in New York City.

Item Special Note

An Eight Week Program for Campers Entering 10th Grade
Spring Lake Day Camp’s outstanding Leadership Training Program is for individuals entering 10th grade as of September of this year. This popular program has consistently been successful, giving each LTP the unique dual opportunity to train to become a part of our staff while enjoying the social and developmental components of the program as a camper.

The combination work-camp-trip program enhances the camper’s summer by exposing them to every aspect of camping life. LTP trainees generally work for part of the day in a group of campers and spend the remainder of the day following their own program with their supervisor. Through hands-on experience and guidance from staff and supervisors, the LTPs become better prepared for any future work with children, in and out of a camp setting.
