Item Description
Native American baby bracelets are a great way to involve even the youngest children in this age-old tradition, primarily led by the Navajo tribe. Jewelry has been a huge part of Native American culture for centuries. In fact, archaeologists have found turquoise beads linked to a time period as early as 200 BC. After having regular contact with the Spanish people in the 16th century, the Navajo were inspired to learn the art of jewelry-making and subsequently teach other Southwestern tribes how to make everything from belt buckles to baby bracelets. They are estimated to have started using silver to craft their jewelry around the early 1860s, and today silver remains the most popular element used in Native Amer. Jewelry.
