Item Description
Honig Winery is family owned, making award winning Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Sauvignon since 1980. Located in Rutherford, the heart of the Napa Valley.
This is a magnum (1.5L) of the 2016 Napa Cabernet Sauvignon from Atlas Peak, Scott's Vineyard.
This tiny Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard (1.2 acres, 2200 vines), owned by the Carnavale family is dedicated to son Scott, a fire captain diagnosed with job-related cancer. Scott made it his mission to ensure that the families of firefighters who became ill on the job were taken care of.
From the winemaker: Notes of plum, cassis and dried blackberry are nuanced by black olive, tea and French oak. Perfectly balanced tannins and a long finish reflect its hillside origins.
From the critics:
“The 2016 Honig is an excellent example of top-tier Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon” 92 points, Wilfred Wong.
“The blueberry and dark-chocolate aromas are very attractive and follow through to a full body, round and juicy tannins and a hazelnut aftertaste.” 92 points, James Suckling
