Fund-a-Need: Help Support the Stone Bridge Chickens Until the Girls Can Support Themselves
In last year's auction, people chipped in to help fund the building of a chicken coop at Stone Bridge School's Coombsville campus. Now we have a coop and we have chickens! But until the hens get old enough to start laying eggs and thus paying for their keep, the third grade class is burdened with the costs and could use some help.
As children go through the 9-year change, the Waldorf model focuses on giving them real-world skills, so farming and cooking are a heavy focus in third grade. Each year it is primarily the third grade's responsibility to care for the chickens -- and this year they've been raising up new chicks.
Can you help them with a donation?
Each $25 "Buy Now" lot purchased will go toward chickenfeed and other upkeep costs until the chickens start laying later this spring.
