Artist bio:
I have enjoyed fishing my entire life. It takes me to beautiful places with friends and family while providing relaxation. Several of Oakwood’s Scout Troop 101 high adventure trips took the troop to the Boundary Waters in Minnesota and the South Tetons as we backpacked and fished for Pike and Trout and smoked them over an open fire to be shared with all.
My day job has been urban redevelopment and often art plays and early and significant role as we breath energy into forgotten places. I have known Mike for over 20 years when he had a studio in one of my developments. We recently reconnected when I bought one of his pieces that spoke to my passion ofFISHING! Mike and I are looking forward to our combined energy while energizing you in a unique way.ââ
"The ART in Fishing" is a new collection of acrylics on weathered steel art works that evoke the beauty inherent to every fish species and captures the imagery in a striking abstract art form.
If you have ever had a client that wants a trophy fish but maybe his wife, OK with the trophy, doesn’t want the fish on the wall steering back at her, but would appreciate a piece of art, that’s my wife. I started in collaboration with nationally recognized artist Mike Elsass, “The ART in Fishing” is a series of works that speak to the angler and art lover.
It’s a nod to the love of the species or just a successful day on the water. We are presenting as single species pieces and in series known as the “Trout Series” specific to the local fishery. Attached is the current “Trout Series " art works deck.
We would be honored to have the opportunity to make the "The ART of Fishing" available to you.
