Artist bio:
Lisa Reeder is an artist whose roots are in Dayton Ohio. Her artist mother provided an early influence by exposing Reeder to the world of art along with encouraging her exploration of creativity.
Reeder also attributes some of her success to the attentive eye of Oakwood High School art teacher, Richard Carmichael.
She received her BFA from the Columbus College of Art and Design in 1073.
After Reeder left Dayton, she began making her own Christmas cards as a way to stay in touch with distant friends and family members. Encouraged by their favorable reception, the cards became an annual tradition.
She returned to Dayton in 1999.
Reeder works in graphite and colored pencil, scratchboard, gouache, photography, collage and more recently, photo collage. She is inspired by her love of nature and animals. Reeder also completes commissioned works.
