Item Description
Two timely books from Soberscove Press, a Chicago-based independent publisher that produces books about art and culture.
Lastgaspism: Art and Survival in the Age of Pandemic - a collection of interviews, critical essays, and artist portfolios that consider matters of life and death having to do with breath, both allegorical and literal.
Where the Future Came From: A Collective Research Project on the Integral Role of Feminism in Chicago's Artist Run Culture From the Late 19th Century to the Present - expands upon previous research into this realm by focusing on the work of women and women-identified makers and their collective efforts from 1880 to the present. Integral contributors to the city's thriving art scene throughout its history, these artists have long defined how we create and organize collaborative work.
