Item Description
Crisfield, Maryland is a fishing town located on the end of a long peninsula that projects into the Chesapeake Bay. Crisfield produces oysters and blue crabs and was once dubbed "the seafood capital of the world". Significant portions of current land in Crisfield were built on marshes filled with excess oyster shells. The print is 20" x 27.5"and shows a workboat unloading bushels of fresh catch at the dock. About the Artist: Franklin Saye captures scenes that will evoke the mood and feelings best representing the Chesapeake Bay, especially the old workboats. Many of his limited-edition prints are sold out and now rare. Aboard his sailboat, "Argentous", he searches for scenes that will evoke the mood and feelings best representing the Bay, especially the old workboats, farmhouses and quaint villages that are fast disappearing.
