Item Description
Watercolor
23" x 28" x 1"
Jane Annis holds a BA in Art from Marshall University and attended the NY School of Interior Design. In 1971, she and her husband purchased an heirloom antique house in Harwich Port, MA, the interior of which was featured in a 1972 issue of "House Beautiful." After retiring as a designer in 1993, Jane returned to watercolor painting, always her favorite medium, and became a fine artist full-time. She is a member of the Westfield Art Association and the Guild of Harwich Artists.
As well as painting flowers, Jane loves to grow them, and so she is very familiar with their shapes and colors. Jane loves the beauty of nature and strives to present it as she sees it, with emotion, color, and the effect of light and shadow on the subject. Jane feels a real attachment to her subjects and hopes that translates to the viewer. Clients often say that Jane's paintings make them smile. That makes the artist smile, as bringing joy to others is her main goal.
