Milo K. Winter, Jr. was born and raised in Illinois. Mr. Winter graduated from the Chicago Art Institute in 1937. He was a member of the faculty at RISD, teaching textile design and color/patterns from 1939-1950. He also taught part-time at Brown University. His work is represented in many private collections, as well as in the St. Louis Art Museum and RISD Museum. Milo K. Winter, Jr. worked in a variety of media, including pastel, watercolor, acrylic, and oil. He did not describe himself as a realistic painter, although the subjects of his art are recognizable. His primary focus was on color and pattern.
