Item Description

Have you ever had "cidre"? 6 bottles of cider from Normandie... but not just from any random place... from Omaha Beach (Saint Laurent sur Mer): One of the most famous landing beaches of WW2. The farm is located within the Omaha Beach area, close to the American War Cemetery at Colleville sur Mer. For auction, are 6 bottles of 3 different cider types (2x Dry, 2x Verger du Littoral, 2x Apple Oak). Dry: The dry cider is a connoisseurs variety. Its bottling density is quite low and it is rich in tannin (polyphenols). It has a sharp taste to it. This cider may accompany red meats, gameVerger du Littoral : The Verger du Littoral, is produced using a blend of apples from the local Bessin area. Dishes that go well with it include creamed fish, coquilles St Jacques etc. , Apple Oak: Cidre Brut (8 ), which has fermented for a few months in one-year cognac barrels with a capacity of 400 liters. Nose: Powerful, undergrowth and candied oranges. Palate: Long finish with notes of old alcohol. Natural Fermentation Cider. This may be the best "cidre" you ever had but I am a bit biased on that statement since this is from the village I grew up... This is a CH/Zug-only item.
