Item Description
Antique “Sessions” 1923 Wagner Model Mechanical Mantel Clock
With 8 day movement that chimes on half hour and cathedral gong that strikes the hour. Gloss black case with gold color accessories. Romanesque design, rounded top.
The clock stands 1 Foot Tall from legs to top, and is 17 inches wide including imbellishments on sides. It is 6 inches deep.
The Sessions Clock Company was one of several notable American clock companies centered in Connecticut. Together, they represented the finest mechanical clocks made in America between the mid-19th century and 1950. This clock was made in 1923.
This clock is in good condition, with a few flaws, as would be expected.
The keys are missing (but could be replaced.) The internal parts appear to be intact.
A newer repair label on the back ( Jack C Haydon Watch and Clock Repair Orange Co CA) implies that it has been restored to working order, but we don’t know for sure if it works or not.
If lovingly restored, this could be a real showpiece, a reminder of simpler times, décor for a Victorian B & B.
The first four photos are of the clock that is up for auction. The final photo is a similar clock, after restoration, that shows what could be done with this rare treasure.
