Local fashion designer, fashion show producer, and pageant coach, Eric Eugene Kamakahia'ai Chandler was known for his exuberant humor and brought his 'bon vivant' personality to everything he touched.
Chandler dressed many local celebrities and Hawaii's first ladies and was also sought out by top Waikiki hotels to do its Christmas exhibitions.
While this artwork is untitled, this statement piece harmonizes tie-dye and Asian culture. Blue in the Japanese culture commonly represents the sea and the sky (by which Japan is surrounded) and symbolizes purity, dignity, calmness, stability, security, and fidelity.
