Our Discovery Sea Cave Kayak Tour is a shortened version of our Adventure Sea Cave Kayaking Tour. In 1-1.5 hours of paddling time, you will experience sea caves, kelp forests and pristine coastlines. This tour is great for first-timers to the island who want to be able to experience numerous activities in a day. Channel Islands National Park offers hiking, snorkeling, birding, endemic species, a rich history and more.

Meets on Santa Cruz Island @ 9:30am and/or 10:30am as well as 12:30pm and/or 1:30pm (meet times depend on the ferry schedule to Santa Cruz Island - Scorpion Anchorage)

Paddling Time and Distance:
1.25-1.5 miles, 1-1.5 hours of island kayaking
(Please note, entire tour time is closer to 2.5 hours with our safety talk, kayak instruction, and gear-up time.)

Level of Difficulty:
Beginner through advanced levels. Children under age 5 not permitted.

Getaway day trip for 2 to Santa Cruz Island with Island Packers!! 

Santa Cruz Island is the largest of all the Channel Islands (and California)!  Santa Cruz Island lies approximately 20 miles offshore from Ventura Harbor and offers two primary landing sites which the vast majority of guests to the island visit. Both landings are situated on the closer, northern side of the island. Scorpion Anchorage on NPS property, lies on the east end of the island, and Prisoners Harbor to the west, at the border of National Park and The Nature Conservancy property. (Channel crossing takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours)

Santa Cruz Island offers some of the most varied hiking and opportunity for self exploration. Secluded coves & beaches are yours to discover. Swimming, snorkeling, kayaking & scuba diving are popular pastimes at Santa Cruz Island. The coastline waters, sea caves, and coves of the island await the adventurous traveler.
