Item Description
A phenomenal collection of Saxum Vineyards Broken Stones six-year vertical from 2007-2012, nurtured in the renowned Willow Creek District of Paso Robles. Rated at 96 points by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, the cuvee is Syrah based, with lesser portions of Grenache, Mourvedre and Petite Syrah. Full-bodied, rich and intense, it reveals its purity and intensity. Broken Stones is the only wine Saxum makes that is a multi-vineyard blend. Saxum wines are bottled unrefined and unfiltered, and they are never racked off their lees. The Paso Robles region's rocky soils, steep hillsides, sunny days and cooling breezes affect Saxum wines in unique and valuable ways. Yields are intentionally kept low, and fruit is picked at the peak of ripeness. Vines are tended sustainably and naturally, without chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides. Only about 5,000 cases are bottled each year between nine different cuvees. These carefully curated vintages are a connoisseur's dream.
This will be a LIVE auction item at the Memory Matters spring Culinary Showcase at Poseidon on April 1. To purchase tickets to the event, go to www.mymemorymatters.org.
