A Three Sister's Garden Seeds
and
The Seed Garden: The Art and Practice of Seed Saving
Who are the Three Sisters?
The crops of corn, beans, and squash are known as the Three Sisters. For centuries these three crops have been the center of Native American agriculture and culinary traditions. It is for good reason as these three crops complement each other in the garden as well as nutritionally.
We are seed savers and want to share with you our saved seed bounty from Terrapin Gardens.
Butternut Squash ~~ Origin from Lee Bennion, Spring City, UT 2005. Winner Best Heirloom, 2020 YGP Harvest Festival:-) (B-nut not so favored by squash bug!)
Puebloan Red Dent Corn ~~ Origin from Greg Nunn, via a Healer, Silver City, NM, 'many years ago'
Pam’s Rattlesnake Bean ~~ Origin from Seed Savers’ Exchange 2009, enough for planting and a small pot of chili beans (all stages of this bean are delicious)
Bag includes:
Locally grown and saved Corn, Butternut Squash, Rattlesnake Pole Bean
3 Sisters planting design instructions
