Johnson lives in Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he is an adjunct professor at the University of Mary Washington and Germana Community College. He earned his B.S. from Virginia State College, his Masters of Fine Arts from Howard University, with an additional study at the Corcoran School of Art. Johnson's works have been exhibited in the U.S., France, Benin, and Jamaica and are included in many corporate, diplomatic, and private collections.
