Item Description
A PRIME Pair of Coombsville Cabs
This lot includes the following two bottles:
- 2015 PRIME Cabernet Sauvignon, Coombsville
- 2016 PRIME Cabernet Sauvignon, Coombsville
PRIME 2015 Coombsville, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 1 bottle
Winemaker's Notes: I only work with small Coombsville farmers (1-3 acres) so I can maintain control over the farming and maintain lasting fruit sources (aka consistency). Aged for 20 months in 25% American and 75% French oak (of which 75% is new). This blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot. As usual with the PRIME Cabernets, I picked at moderate sugar levels, harvesting the first week of October. The reason I am drawn to the cool climate of Coombsville is because of this extra bit of hangtime without the grapes turning to raisins.
The 2015 vintage has a rich velvety mouthfeel with gingerbread, sage and red raspberry flavors. -- Ted Henry, winemaker
PRIME 2016 Coombsville, Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, 1 bottle
92 Points: Wine Advocate, Jeb Dunnuck, James Suckling
Winemaker's Notes: Aged for 20 months in 25% American and 75% French oak (of which 75% is new). This blend is 93% Cabernet Sauvignon and 7% Cabernet Franc.
