Colombian born artist Andres Hoyos currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York. He has studied art at The Art Students League of New York in New York City and Escola Massana in Barcelona and primarily works in mixed media with found and recycled objects. The exploration of different mediums in his art raises awareness and invites conversations about what is happening in front of us and needs to be addressed like immigration, global warming, recycling and peace. Andres has participated in exhibitions in private and public galleries in the United States, Colombia and Spain. His work is part of the private collection of the Colombian embassy in Washington D.C.
As a CITYarts Artist, Andres led local youth and volunteers in the restoration of CITYarts Mosaic Peace Wall in Harlem, a 7'H x 214'W Mosaic wall created by youth from around the world, the first of CITYarts' Five Peace Walls
